Easter Sunday 04/24/2011

Easter Sunday came so quick. On April 24, 2011 we celebrated Easter Sunday. Everyone was dressed in their beautiful dresses, skirts, and fancy suits. The church was full of people who had the VICTORY! During "Children's Church" the youth marched around the church to music symbolizing flowers growing into the generation. After a powerful word about being "VICTORIOUS" by Pastor Brown three new young adults ages 17, 18 and 21 joined the church. In closing everyone got baskets made by the "Easter Basket Committee" and special help by Pebbles Branham and her children. It was a great day and everyone was truly blessed to be in house of the LORD praising his name together.

On April 17, 2011 the Young Adults of the Church as well as the Lay Council hosted Palm Sunday Breakfast. Young Adults came to the church at 5:00 an to help the kitchen committee prepare breakfast. During this service we were blown away with a powerful message by Marrix Seymore (preacher). We also had brother Derrell Brooks minister in mime, the Miles Memorial Liturgical Dance Ministry ministered, as well as a singing performance by Gina Abrams- Ughiovhe. During this breakfast we were all able to fellowship together and share warm hugs and "chatter". Many were blessed by the service and hope that it will continue to get better and better each year.

On February 26,2011 the Missionary Board along with the Young Adults of the church worked to put together an event for the homeless in action. Lot's of members and non members came out to help serve and prepare food for the homeless. Over 80 homeless people came down to the church for a hot meal, desert, and a tasty drink. I never realized how many homeless people there are in the world and it made me think about how many others could be out there starving. It warmed my heart giving back to the community. "God will bless and give back to you what you have given us" said the grateful people coming in and out of the church doors. Many people don't realize that we have touched so many lives and filled so many tummy's with a blessing from God.
